10. Grand Glaize Bridge
Two girder bridges known collectively as the Grand Glaize Bridge span the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks in the Missouri city of Osage Beach.
The Bagnell Dam and the Lake of the Ozarks were being built in 1931 at the same time as the Grand Glaize Bridge.
The trusses were erected beneath the deck of the deck truss construction so that passing motorists could see the lake.
The bridge was infamous for its no-shoulder design and extremely tiny lanes. In 1984, a brand-new parallel girder bridge carrying westbound traffic was finished, and the first bridge was demolished.
This bridge was well-known and may be seen on countless postcards from the lake area. Because of its odd shape, people used to refer to it as the Upside Down Bridge.
The bridge was constructed in this fashion to provide drivers a fantastic view of the lake. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to see over the edges of the unsightly concrete eye sore that replaced it from an automobile.
It’s dangerous to cross the bridge…. Go on a journey and discover the pathways beneath the bridge to reach the opposite side… If you’re traveling at night, bring a light.
Visit Grand Glaize Bridge and find out for yourself; it ought to be enjoyable and fascinating. Please do us a favor and visit our site again to provide a review about your experience. Thanks.
