Lagos **** embly Members Have No Absolute Power to Remove Speaker – GAC Chairman
The Chairman of the Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi, has criticized lawmakers for failing to consult party leaders before removing Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
Olusi insisted lawmakers lack absolute power to install or remove leaders without party involvement. He revealed that the GAC is working with a high-powered committee, including Chief Bisi Akande, to resolve the crisis.
Meanwhile, Speaker Mojisola Meranda condemned Obasa’s invasion of her office, calling it a “show of shame.” Obasa, who staged a parallel plenary, has challenged his removal in court as tensions persist.
