Many Soldiers Feared Killed as Boko Haram Attacks Borno Military Base
Several soldiers were reportedly killed when Boko Haram insurgents attacked a military base in Sabon Gari, Damboa LGA, Borno State, on Monday evening.
Local sources say the insurgents stormed the base, firing sporadically and inflicting heavy casualties. A military reinforcement team reportedly hit a landmine, causing further injuries.
While officials have yet to confirm the exact number of casualties, the Borno State Commissioner for Information, Usman Tar, acknowledged an IED explosion that claimed one soldier's life and injured another.
