BREAKING: Court Asked to Sack Rivers’ Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibas
The Federal High Court in Abuja has been asked to remove Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd) as the Sole Administrator of Rivers State.
The lawsuit, filed by Abuja-based lawyer Johnmary Jideobi, challenges the constitutionality of Ibas’s appointment, arguing that President Bola Tinubu lacks the legal authority to suspend an elected governor and install a sole administrator.
President Tinubu, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Ibas, and the Attorneys-General of all 36 states are named as defendants in the case, which seeks to nullify the appointment and prevent similar actions in any state.
No date has been set for the hearing.
